July 4th, 2009

Because your amp”s sound is greatly influenced by the way each of these components responds to the guitar signal. Cheap parts have a slower dynamic response, and can also add unwanted coloration to the signal. This is one reason why some amps will sound great at a lower volume, but start to break up and distort as soon as you turn things up.

Madonna to Thrill with Michael Jackson Tribute

Madonna will pay special tribute to Michael Jackson when she resumes her Sticky & Sweet tour in London tomorrow night.

Madonna’s rep tells the Associated Press that she’ll perform a special song and dance number in memory of Michael during the concert.

In exclusive photos of a dress rehearsal for the show (posted on Madonna’s Web site), a man dressed like the late King of Pop is pictured busting dance moves while the Material Mom and an entourage watch on, looking impressed.

Michael Jackson’s Last Music Projects Revealed

What kind of music was the King of Pop dreaming up before he died? Read on for the dish.

The late star was at work on a pop album and classical, instrumental pieces, says Billboard.com. On the pop album, he was collaborating with songwriter Claude Kelly and R&B star Akon, who says Michael was inspired by popular demand for tickets to his shows.

"He said, ‘My fans are still there. They still love me. They’re alive,’" Akon says. "His kids are like his first priority, and they had never seen him perform live. He was trying to create the most incredible show for his kids."

Behind the Scenes of Michael Jackson’s ‘This is It’ Concert

Michael Jackson was busy putting on the final touches for his 50-date London concerts at the O2 Arena when he unexpectedly died. Now, ET’s Thea Andrews is with the men behind the massive production to reveal what could have been Michael’s most incredible concert tour yet!

A show filled with music, dance, stunts and pyrotechnics, Michael’s "This is It" concert was being directed by Kenny Ortega, the man who designed Michael’s "Dangerous" tour, choreographed ‘Dirty Dancing’ and also brought "High School Musical" to the world. Kenny says that Michael promised "the concert of a lifetime" and was prepared to deliver.

"We [had] some fun things planned," he says, referring to gigantic spiders, 20-foot puppets, a flaming bed, a pole dancing aerialist, a 3D movie and plenty more magic. "It’s complex in scale and it’s as big as anything I’ve ever done or attempted to do for an arena production."

Breaking: Time, Date Confirmed for Michael Jackson Memorial

The time, date and ticket-availability info for Michael Jackson’s public memorial have been announced.

The farewell service for Jackson will take place on Tuesday, July 7 at 10 a.m. at the Staples Center. Eleven thousand tickets will be made available to the general public free of charge.

The program will also be simulcast at Los Angeles’ nearby Nokia Theatre.

Just In: Michael Jackson Rehearsal Footage

ET has the latest…

ET has just obtained the footage from one of Michael Jackson’s final rehearsals, shot just two days before his death on June 23.

The one minute and forty two second video shows the late singer wearing black pants, red shirt, gray blazer and red lipstick while performing his song "They Don’t Really Care About Us" live.

He appears strong and when he finishes the song he is all smiles.

Diane Dimond on Jermaine Jackson’s Emotional Good-bye

Investigative journalist Diane Dimond, who has covered the King of Pop since 1993, talks to ET about the new details in the Michael Jackson investigation and Jermaine Jackson’s farewell interview.

The public will be able to pay its respects to Michael at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Tuesday at 10 a.m. This is where Michael spent some of his last hours, on stage rehearsing for his London comeback.

But before MJ is laid to rest, reports of his life continue. In today’s New York Post, Linda Stasi wrote a scathing column about Michael.

Lost Photos of Michael Jackson

ET is looking back at the life of the King of Pop Michael Jackson.

In these photos, Michael is seen with loved ones at his grandmother’s funeral in 1990. The photos were taken at the Jackson family burial plot at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles.

Michael Jackson’s Former Bodyguard’s Explosive Drug and Love Claims

Matt Fiddes, a former bodyguard of Michael Jackson, is opening up in new video footage about what he experienced when he worked with the King of Pop, and hints that Michael may have been in a relationship with a woman.

Fiddes speaks in the video at length about things he witnessed with Jackson associate and renowned paranormalist Uri Geller. "Uri confiscated injection equipment from his room and whisked it away, and Uri would scream intensely at Michael to stop doing this," Fiddes says.

Fiddes tells the interviewer that one morning "[Michael] was hard to wake." "We were extremely concerned," Fiddes says, continuing, "and I can remember it clearly now, Michael was there and Uri was shaking him saying, ‘Michael, have you taken something?’ and he would come round and just say it was jet lag."

Seize Every Opportunity—If youre going to take the time away from work, family, and the buzz youve built in your own music community to head out into the great beyond and conquer unknown landsyou might as well come back with something other than lovely memories and an out-of-state parking ticket. Youre in a new place and the possibilities are endless. Sell CDs. Sell T-shirts. Get new names on your mailing list. Solicit local reviews, interviews, and radio. Introduce yourself to other club owners for future bookings. Find out who books local festivals. Play an impromptu house party after your gig. Make new friends that can street team for you next time. ET Investigates: Who is the Biological Father of Michael Jackson’s Kids?

This week a shocking report surfaced claiming that the biological father of Michael Jackson’s children is actually the King of Pop’s one-time doctor — and Debbie Rowe’s former boss — Beverly Hills dermatologist Arnold Klein. Now, ET recruits a board certified plastic surgeon to do a comparative facial analysis of the children!

"When you examine the pictures of Dr. Klein and try to compare them to Prince and Paris, there really is very little resemblance between the two," says Dr. Brian S. Glatt. "It seems to me that he would be very unlikely to be genetically related to them."

Looking at certain "giveaway" facial features such as the nose, eye color, hair color and facial structure, Dr. Glatt says there is very little similarity in appearance other than the fact that Dr. Klein and the children have light-colored skin.

Diane Dimond on the Latest Michael Jackson Bombshells

Investigative journalist Diane Dimond, who has been covering Michael Jackson since 1993, talks to ET about the latest bombshell from the King of Pop’s will.

Earlier today, ET reported that Michael Jackson’s will states that if his mother, Katherine Jackson, is unable to raise his children, he would like Diana Ross to take over the care of his kids.

"Michael always idolized Diana Ross," Diane tells ET. "There were reports he always wanted to look like her. When Michael and his brothers first moved to Hollywood, Motown sent them out ahead of the rest of the family. Katherine Jackson was beside herself that her son was living with Diana Ross. She’s always felt a jealousy with Diana Ross. I can’t see how this pleases Katherine Jackson one iota."

Jackson Family: No Neverland Memorial

The Jackson family has released a statement about reports that a public memorial for Michael Jackson would be held at Jackson’s former home, Neverland Ranch.

"Contrary to previous news reports, the Jackson family is officially stating that there will be no public or private viewing at Neverland. Plans are underway regarding a public memorial for Michael Jackson, and we will announce those plans shortly," a rep for the family said in a statement.

Keep checking back on ETonline for all the up to the minute news about any Michael Jackson memorials.

Mark Lester Tells ET: ‘I’m Horrified by all the Reports’

Former child star Mark Lester, who is best known for playing the lead role in ‘Oliver’ and is the godfather to Michael Jackson’s two older children, talks to ET about the death of the King of Pop.

Mark, who is now an osteopath, last saw Michael when MJ came to London last March to announce his 50-date concert tour.

It is Mark’s opinion that Michael would never have contemplated setting such a tough performance schedule if he "wasn’t on top of it." Mark also tells ET, "If he couldn’t have done it, he wouldn’t have done it."

Undoubtedly, the unrivaled success and popularity of Dallas was in large part due to Larry Hagman

July 1st, 2009

Undoubtedly, the unrivaled success and popularity of Dallas was in large part due to Larry Hagman and his portrayal of J.R. Ewing. Hagmans real life Texas roots, unique charm, and wholehearted commitment to his craft helped to create one of the most loveable villains in history, and his treachery is on fully display in season five. Although J.R. is a vindictive cutthroat, the audience grows to love his sinister smile in the aftermath of a one-sided business deal and/or a selfish act of calculating revenge. In sharp contrast, J.R.s brother Bobby (Patrick Duffy) brings the Ewing karma back into balance with his all-American smile and impeccable character. Patrick Duffy brings his own style of charm to the small screen, and it makes for an interesting clash of personalities.
