You”ve Got Mail (DVD) Review

10a5

Despite its overly commercial purpose (AOL advertising), You”ve Got Mail still manages to come off as a quaint and likeable romantic comedy. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan attempt to replicate the onscreen magic of Sleepless In Seattle, when the pair took the Hollywood box office by storm. You”ve Got Mail doesn”t live up to the standards of Sleepless In Seattle, but it is a good romantic comedy when judged solely on its own merits. Hanks and Ryan both turn in performances which amplify the likeability of their respective characters, and the screenplay - despite some flaws - manages to create a viable plotline that keeps the audience interested. That”s why You”ve Got Mail is a favorite of so many movie lovers

Jos James - Blackmagic

Beats or no beats, this boy has something going on.

Various Artists - Harder Shade of Black

If youre fresh to the sounds of Santic this is a good place to start.

Solo Banton - Walk Like Rasta

Debut album from UK reggae artist with plenty to say.

General Fiasco - Buildings

A perfunctory debut album, but surely destined for the indie landfill.

Goldheart Assembly - Wolves and Thieves

Its inherent sweetness cant fail to connect with a bigger audience.

Past Lives - Tapestry of Webs

Widescreen evolution from former Blood Brothers punks.

The Method Actors - This Is Still It

One-time peers of REM are exhumed, and still sound remarkably fresh.

Carly Simon - Never Been Gone

Pleasant rather than essential, something that would be a nice tour souvenir.

A few months ago, I was experiencing the common problems all new marketers face

March 9th, 2010

A few months ago, I was experiencing the common problems all new marketers face. I knew what I wanted to do, but not how to actually get it done. I”m talking about the setting up, in order to start business. I needed a domain name, a website, content and products, a hosting service, a shopping cart, a mailing list facility, a form for grabbing visitor”s details, a payment processor, or two, etc etc. You know what I”m talking about. There are so many options available. The web is full of them. Some are free, some cheap, some having special offers, but which was the best for my needs? Nobody tells you that sort of information. How much space do you need for a bookstore, how much bandwidth do you need for customer downloads? How does the speed affect you? I had played around a bit with wysiwyg editors and done a little html coding. I had used a couple of free websites and hey, the last one I built without their website templated builder. I thought I was getting good, but still a little out of my depth. That scared me a bit, so I decided to look for a ready made, turnkey business. They all say the only thing you need to do is to enter your password and account details, then sit back and watch the money roll in. Well I eventually found something that sounded ideal. It was expensive, but I thought I would be saving in the long run. I wanted to sell ebooks, articles, plr, courses and so on. I paid for this business, as I had seen the example and even test drove the shopping cart prior to purchase. Just when I thought I had found a shortcut to starting my business, the problems began. What problems? Read the next article to find out and to see the solution.

March 6th, 2010

But what I really like about Google Alerts is that you can set up more than just one and enter as many keywords as you like.

Boyzone - Brother

A treat for fans, but younger ears might wonder what the fuss was ever about.

Emma Pollock - The Law of Large Numbers

Long-term fans of Pollock, and The Delgados, will find their expectations met.

Titus Andronicus - The Monitor

Lives up both to its rebellious, riotous ambition and its rich musical heritage.

Various Artists - Bustin Out New Wave To New Beat: the Post Punk Era 1979-1981

Reminds us that pop and dance music can be subversive without foregoing accessibility.

Jason Derulo - Jason Derlo

As hot as a deep-frozen chicken fillet, this soulless Auto-Tune-fest is one to avoid.

Jimi Hendrix - Valleys of Neptune

The latest posthumous Hendrix album offers underwhelming new material.
