With this should be combined another extract from the same writer, as illustrating the wide-spread taste for music in the British Islands at that early period. In 1171 Giraldus “Cambrensis, or Gerald Barry, Bishop of St. David”s, to give him his proper name and title in English, visited Ireland in the suite of Henry the Second; and in his Topographia Hibernia there are the following impressions of the National Music of the Irish :-

March 10th, 2010

Warren DiMartini (Ratt): What impresses me most about DiMartini is that fact that despite being known as a speed demon who is content to throw a startling flurry of notes at the listener, is that he knows the value of a rest. Too many metal artists try to play as fast as possible, and DiMartini can keep up with the best of them, but Im more taken with the fact that on songs like Lay it Down, Wanted Man and Round and Round, its DiMartinis artful use of pauses and mutings to lend depth and character to what would otherwise be just another ripping metal tune.

Chris Brown: Hats Off to Tiger Woods

Earlier today, Chris Brown told Mojo in the Morning: "My hat is off to [Tiger Woods] — I support him." The singer even drew a comparison between himself and the embattled sports icon, saying they both deserve a break!

Both stars have had an image crisis after being involved in shocking scandals — Brown for beating then girlfriend Rihanna and Woods for a bizarre accident that was never explained as news broke he had numerous affairs on his wife.

"Whatever his personal life is — and I think this goes for me and him — his personal life is his personal life," the singer said on Mojo in the Morning. "I do music, I sing songs, like, I’m an entertainer, I’m a performer, but people make mistakes," he added. "So my hat is off to him — I support him, I hope he gets back on the field and does his thing, cause he is the best at it."

Far ahead of its time, The Sting redefined the Hollywood plot twist with its ingenious organization

March 7th, 2010

Far ahead of its time, The Sting redefined the Hollywood plot twist with its ingenious organization of multiple subplots. Newman is masterful as the veteran cheat Henry Gondorff, and its well worth watching the entire film just to see the scene where he out-cheats the ultimate cheat at cards. With a parade of eccentric characters, well-developed sinister figures, and clever exchanges of dialogue, The Sting isnt your typical sensationalistic Hollywood potboiler. Like a great novel, the film takes some time to establish its characters and develop its plotline. Patient viewers will be well-rewarded.

Through collaboration with the website Jackin4Beats

March 6th, 2010

Through collaboration with the website Jackin4Beats.Com we were able to add a quality soundtrack featuring East Coast & West Coast artists including Custom Made Recordings, Ayreon The Don, and Malice & Da Commission. You”re going to hear ‘NO’ a lot when tracking down music for your soundtrack. A nice music budget makes it easier, but most independent films have very little money for music. Don”t give up or settle on music that doesn”t fit your film. There are music artists that will appreciate the exposure of being on a movie soundtrack. CONSIGNMENT lent itself to a hip hop soundtrack, so we focused on rising hip hop artists. In our case it happened to work.
